ALBUM – 2025 Energy Vision Awards Celebration & Benefit
Energy Vision’s 19th Annual Awards Reception was held on a clear fall evening in NYC at the beautiful ILA Penthouse on West 28th Street in the city’s flower district. With a turnout of 120 supporters and energy leaders from across the country, we presented awards to four industry pioneers who are moving the US toward a sustainable energy future and a leading American litigator, professor, author and greenhouse gas reduction advocate.
Divert, Inc. a Massachusetts company, received its award for its work to eliminate food waste by distributing edible food to people in need and sending over 3.3 billion pounds of inedible non-donatable food waste to anaerobic digester facilities where it is turned into clean fuel and organic fertilizer.
Cummins introduced and FedEx Freight field tested a new powerful 15-liter (X15N™) natural gas engine which can run on renewable natural gas made from waste. The more than 2.3 million of these heavy trucks on US roadways at last have an alternative to achieve major reductions in greenhouse gases and tailpipe emissions.
And a German company, EnviTec Biogas that has designed, built and operated more than 800 sophisticated anaerobic digester systems which get the most value from organic wastes.
Each of these corporate innovators have achieved major cuts in methane emissions, which Durwood Zaelke, our fourth award winner and founder and president of the Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, called “the fastest way to turn down near-term warming — a key to keeping the planet safe in the near term.
